Snorkeling Trails

Cape Peron Snorkel Trail

The Cape Peron Snorkel Trail is a great way to experience the underwater wonders of the Marine Park. A series of plinths on the seafloor mounted with interpretive signs will help you to explore a complex and diverse reef community. The trail is a 60 metre circuit in 2 to 3 metres of water that is suited to a range of ages and abilities.

For more information and safety tips for a safe and enjoyable experience visit the Department of Environment and Conservation website.

Rottnest Island

The snorkel trail at Little Salmon Bay joins thirteen underwater wrecks and a popular snorkel trail at Parker Point to provide an additional focal point and interpretive trail from which to enjoy marine life in all its exquisite form and colour.   Plaques are also on location at Kingstown Reef with many other reefs around the Island offering great viewing opportunities.

A very useful publication on snorkelling at Rottnest Island is available at the Visitor Centre and snorkelling equipment is available for hire on the Island.

Please note that spearguns and handspears are not permitted in the Marine Reserve.

Please take care when snorkelling and diving around coral as it is easily damaged and may take many years to recover.
